Hello!
I may have previously mentioned this, but I'm going to be travelling with my family through France, Italy, Germany and Austria in about three weeks. I have decided to start a travel blog as a result and, while I am there, will be posting every couple of days about what I am up to. While I will keep this blog, I won't be posting while I am overseas. I will post in the meantime, but, after I go, all posts will be over on 'georgina travels'.

In these photos I was kind of experimenting with floral photography and macro. I was so happy when I realised the farm had proteas - they are my favourite flower in the world!

moonlight cinema

Hey everyone!

One of my family's favourite things to do in Summer is head to the Moonlight Cinema in the Royal Botanic Gardens. They blow up a massive inflatable screen and you watch films in the outdoors, having eaten a yummy picnic before and snuggling up with blankets as you watch a flick! Some of the movies I've seen there are Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the Good Dinosaur and the Lion King. It's so great! If you live near a Moonlight Cinema, I definitely recommend checking it out! sydney pt one + two years

Hi gorgeous gals, guys, dogs, people, french fries... whatever you're feeling!
This blog turned two yesterday, I cannot believe that! I don't post nearly enough on here, so what would you guys like to see?

Starting this blog has been one of the best things I've ever done. I've made some incredible friends (I'm looking at you Bella, Xanthe, Brianna, Britt, Emily, Brooke and all you other gorgeous people!) and made some incredible memories. I've discovered more about who I am, and blogging has become such a major part of my life. Some of my best friends don't know a Georgina who didn't blog!

There have been many times I've thought about stopping, I'm not going to lie. Even now, I still consider it, because my posts are so few and far between. However, I'm still blogging, and I'm honestly so happy I am. "That redhead girl who blogs" is who I have become, and there's nothing I would ever change about that!

Here's to many more years of blogging! I love you all so much! Thanks for sticking with this blog through the "travel series" of June 2014, and my all over the place posting last year!

5 books you have to read

hello!

One thing I haven't ever really talked about on the blog is my love for books. I really REALLY love books! I love reading them on the train, before bed, on the weekend and on my beanbag. I love all sorts of books, and I will happily read them over and over. Can you tell I like book?

So today I want to share my five top books/series. They are my challenging, comfort, inspirational, spy and just plain GOOD books! I hope you enjoy!

1. CHALLENGING - A challenging book for me is the Tomorrow When The War Began series by John Marsden. I read the first book last year, and I tore through it. But then I waited until recently to read the rest, because so much goes on in the book, so many new ideas and things I just never thought about, that it was impossible to comprehend. Yet, as I read the second book, I value leaving such a big space of time between them, because it gave me time to stomach, and mull over the book.

2. COMFORT - My comfort books are the Enid Blyton books. My mum has an amazing collection that I have expanded on, and they are such simple stories with such inspirational morals. I mean who DOESN'T want to read about how a forgetful schoolboy misses out on a trip to the ocean? (nobody, that's the answer). The books are my comfort book because I can read them after a big read, like the Tomorrow series, and it helps me comprehend the other book somehow? I'm not entirely sure!

3. INSPIRATIONAL - The most Inspirational book I have ever read is To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. You are probably thinking "Gosh Georgina, how many times have I heard about THAT book!" And that's exactly what I thought when my Mum came home from the op shop with it (except I thought Mum... not Georgina... that would be weird!). But I read it once, and then read it again. Because it had such an inspirational story that I had to read it again, and actually fully concentrate on it, to get it fully. And can you imagine how excited I was when I heard about the sequel? No? Well, let's just say I danced around the house yelling LET'S GO SET THE WATCHMAN for a good half an hour… 

4.  SPY - By this heading, I mean action, crime, spy etcetera. And this book is good. Ruby. Redfort. Lordy, I could talk about that book for hours! I even did a school assignment on it! Ruby Redfort is a 13 year old girl who is INSANELY smart, and because of this the spy agency Spectrum has her become their code cracker! The books are about her different missions. I am not sure why I like this book, as I have nothing in common with the characters, but it is written incredibly well and I feel like I can relate to it!

5. just plain GOOD - this goes to, and forever will go to, any book by John Green. I'm sure you have heard of his book The Fault In Our Stars, which is an amazing book, but surprisingly not my favourite! This is my order: An Abundance of Katherine's gets number one, followed by Paper Towns, Let It Snow, The Fault In Our Stars and finally Will Grayson, Will Grayson. But all his books are incredible and a highly recommend reading them!

very recently (today in fact), I had an idea... basically, it's a series called "dear blogger", where I write a letter to one of my favourite bloggers, and share it with you! I will probably do a post/letter once a fortnight! today, my letter is to zali! I hope you enjoy!

one year blog birthday !

Hello !


This seems so gosh darn crazy to say, but this here blog is ONE YEAR OLD ! I have learnt so much over that one year, and made so many memories I will never forget ! I have made some incredible friends, and had the opportunity to work with some incredible brands !

Would you believe that I was aiming for 10 bloglovin' followers by the end of my first year of blogging ? I got 50 ! I cannot believe you guys >o<

anyway, I'm going to list a couple of things that will be happening this year on my blog:

+ pretty soon I will be undergoing a name change + blog revamp ! my blog will be down for a couple of hours when I move my design over and polish it off, but I'll let you all know about that !
+ I am going to ask lot's of brands to collaborate me, and hopefully I can get a giveaway together for you all!
+ I will (hopefully) meet some of my blogging friends !!

this is a tad of an update post! here are some things that have been happening lately...

+I started high school! as of January 30th, I am officially a high school student!
+I got a laptop! Last night, I got a laptop! It was the Adobe Creative Suite, which includes PHOTOSHOP!!! yay yay yay!! I have been having so much fun playing around on the different programs! Oh, I forgot to mention.... IT'S A MACBOOK PRO!!!!
+I got this watermelon skirt from country road, and tan saltwater sandals
+My hair became long enough for high ponytails!! and I discovered that white ribbons look GREAT against my hair!!

also, guess which blog is turning one soon? mine! eight days and counting until it's a year old!

new years resolutions

hello there,

happy new year's! hoping that 2015 brings lots of good things to each and every one of you lovely readers, and all your loved ones as well <3

here are my new year's resolutions! enjoy!

1. drink more water

my first goal is to drink more water! this is a fairly simple goal, but one I have to try! here is what I wrote in my journal:

drink at least one litre of water a day. drink water with every meal, and use my mason jars to make detox / infused water!

2. run more

I honestly don't do a lot of exercise, and spend most afternoons curled up on my beanbag on Instagram! so I need to run more! below is what I wrote in my journal:

try to go for a three kilometre run at least once a week, to help keep fit and look after my body.

3. spend less times on electronics

I spend so much time on electronics (as mentioned above!) I reckon I spend 1-2 and sometimes 3-4 hours on it each day! here is what my journal says:

to appreciate my electronics more, use them less! spend ten minutes on one, then ten minutes or more off!

4. use my diary more

I received a beautiful Frankie diary for christmas, and I can't wait to use it! I have a history of not using them very well, so I will try very hard to use my diary well! here is what I said in my journal:

use my diary to organise my commitments and activities during the day, as well as birthdays and homework! keep a pen by it's side to motivate me to use it more.

5. work on my blog more

I don't think I try hard enough on my blog, to be honest! but next year, I will have my own laptop, and more editing programs, so yay for that! my journal says:

to gain a bigger readership, you should think of a new and good name that you will stick with, create a blog design that you are proud of, mark your posts out evenly on a calendar, host a giveaway to celebrate a milestone, contact brands for collaborations and buy a custom domain for originality!

6. stop biting my nails

this is the third year I have had this goal… I really need to stop! I have lots of nail polishes, but I can't use them as there are no nails to paint! in my journal, I wrote:

paint them nicely, or gross myself out, as long as I stop biting my nails!

7. sleep more

I'm going to high school in 2015, so getting more sleep is definitely a good idea! fingers crossed that I follow this one up! I wrote this in my journal:

get at least nine hours sleep, and read for half an hour before bed, to help you have more energy during the day.

I hope that 2015 brings lots of good things to every person in the world, but especially my beautiful readers! I don't know exactly what 2015 will bring for this blog, but I hope it brings lots of awesome opportunities, new friends and much more! I can't wait to see what 2015 will bring for me and my blog!

absences

hello there,

I am so, so, so sorry for my absence from this blog at the moment! I am finishing up with primary school forever, and have just been so busy! Also, my family computer is never available for blog posts! Aaaaaah!

Next year, I get my own laptop, so yay for that! There will be no excuses anymore!

Anyway, I have been thinking of changing the blog name (again) but I just cannot think of anything! I have only two ideas:

+ Happy Days (the retro television show inspired this one!)

+ OMGee! (a spin on my nickname)

+ Life Of Gee

hello!

welcome to my new blog, under the papaya tree! this is something I've been thinking about for a long time, as I wasn't happy with my previous name. I really like this one! this is a new blog, so you will have to refollow it, and I need to finish up the design! (including a header!) but for now, I love my name!

anyway, with the new name comes a new era of blogging for me! I will be posting BETTER posts, but probably less frequently! that means no filler posts, and more crafts and fashion posts! yay!

a little break

at the moment, I am working on a SUPER important project at school, which requires most of my time and energy.

because of this, I will be taking a little break of 2-3 weeks, to focus on this project.

I will be drafting a couple of posts and taking photos though, so expect some posts after that break! I will also be taking a break off instagram, but I will reply to direct messages and emails.

I am still in primary school, so we don't have a lot of subjects per say. But, out of the ones we do have, my favourites are art, inquiry, writing, math, reading, italian, performing arts and sport! (all of them in other words!)
